Our weekly radio program, "Music & Memories", is broadcast every Sunday morning at 8 a.m. over KASM radio, 1150AM. Each week we recognize those who died in the coming week of the previous year, along with inspirational music.

Invitations to listen are sent out to each family we have served about a week before the program airs. But now we are able to post the script for this coming Sunday right here.

We invite you to have your loved one remembered on the program. Just fill out this form. Remember to send us the name and date of death about ten days ahead of time so that we can get them on the program the week before the anniversary date.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday July 27, 2025 Covering the deaths from July 27-Aug 2, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. As we near the end of July we sometimes marvel at how time flies; where did it go? As rain falls, we are reminded of the many tears we've shed and how cleansing we felt after. Mother earth also needs a good cry now and again. Rainy days can be challenging if you love to be outside, so this might be the time to sit back and read that book you've been putting off? Maybe calling up that friend you often think of but don't call. Maybe it's time to go out with friends or connect with family you've haven't seen in a long time. Rainy days don't have to be gloomy; make your rainy day fun and always remember; YOU are in charge of YOUR feelings; not the weather. This program is dedicated to the memory of: Elmer Bertram who died July 22, 2000 Shirley VonWahlde who died July 25, 2018 Sara Lieser Bertram who died July 25, 1998 Mary T. Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday July 13, 2025 Covering the deaths from July 13-19, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. By now the July 4th holiday is behind you and a somewhat normalcy is back in your life. As you look back to how it all went, try to pick out what worked for you or didn't work for you. Grief is individual and what may work for one may not work for another. Were you able to relax and share or did you spend time in the background. When we talk about what worked for you, we mean, were you surrounded by folks who love and support you? Did you venture out and do activities you weren't able to do before, or did you just stay home? These are the questions to ask yourself as you look back and by doing so, you'll know what works for you. continue to share the memories and tell those stories! This program is dedicated to the memory of: Olive Meller who died July 13, 2018 Leona Winczewski who died July 13, 2017 David “Dave” Walter who died July 13, 2013 Vicki Athmann who died July 13, 1999 Lori Thomas who died July 14, 2023 Alvera Streich who died July 14, 2015 Peter “Pete” Jennissen who died July 14, 2013 Ralph Meller who died July 14, 1993 Margaret Holmquist who died July 15, 2023 Don “Donnie” Herzog who died July 15, 2022 Gerald Zenzen who died July 15, 2021 Darren Drone who died July 15, 1988 Jane Meyer who died July 16, 2024 Bernard “Benny” Majerus who died July 16, 2023 Charles Beutz who died July 16, 1961 Robert Kern who died July 17, 2022 Norris Sowada who died July 17, 2014 Anna Barthel who died July 17, 1954 Elenore Caspers who died July 18, 2022 John Klaphake who died July 18, 2022 LeRoy “Lee” Wolbeck who died July 19, 2024 Chad Toenyan who died July 19, 2022 Lorraine Schwieters who died July 19, 2018 Richard Rademacher who died July 19, 2016 Lila Thomas who died July 19, 2013 Art Pfannenstein who died July 19, 1990 Matilda Wolbeck who died July 19, 1983 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday July 6, 2025 Covering the deaths from July 6-12, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. By now your 4th of July celebrations are ongoing. Your grief emotions may have challenged you while you were attending the celebration and when we think of celebrating, our grief pain likes to stop us from having a good time. Grief emotions are unpredictable and as with our emotions, like to think they're in charge. Dealing with your grief starts by recognizing and naming it. For example: "I feel sad today". By saying this out loud you have recognized your feelings and taken the power away. You may not like the word celebration for now, but a good get-together is very healing! Let's take a moment to recognize and honor all those men and women who fought for the freedom we live today; including the freedom to grief! This program is dedicated to the memory of: Patrick O’Donnell who died July 5, 2022 Rose Primus who died July 5, 1972 Riverlynn VanNorman who died July 6, 2023 Frieda Sand-Kerfeld who died July 6, 2001 Lois “Giggles” Rieland who died July 7, 2024 Leo Schneider who died July 7, 2005 Agatha Roering who died July 7, 1990 Hubert Barthel who died July 7, 1967 William “Bill” Nietfeld who died July 8, 2024 Raymond Ostendorf who died July 8, 2021 Herman Behnen Sr. who died July 8, 1969 Michael “Zeke” Deters who died July 9, 2024 Rick Rieland who died July 9, 2021 Eugene “Gene” Athmann who died July 9, 2012 Henry Feldewerd who died July 9, 1971 David Doucette who died July 10, 2024 Tom Justin who died July 10, 2019 Leander “Lee” Roering who died July 10, 2011 Henry Kampsen who died July 10, 2001 Veronica Weber who died July 10, 2000 Le Roy “Roy” Vos who died July 11, 2015 Valerian Janssen who died July 11, 2010 Connie Fiddler Bursken who died July 11, 2009 Sister Mary Neil Notch who died July 11, 1995 Katherine Ostendorf who died July 11, 1978 Carol Norris who died July 12, 2023 Mae Beste who died July 12, 2023 Edwin Koening who died July 12, 2022 Gary Buttweiler who died July 12, 2011 Bryan Silbernagel who died July 12, 2009 Rose Roering who died July 12, 1990 Henry Salzl who died July 12, 1988 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday June 29, 2025 Covering the deaths from June 29 – July 5, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. The end of June this year is bringing lots of well-needed rain. As rainy days go, there are clouds and dreariness. As with our grief pain we can experience the rainy days and warm sunshine days. Some say the rain is cleansing from above, and clearing out the air, while our tears clear out and detoxify our bodies. Tears are full of love and healthy when allowed to come forward. They remind us of the love we shared with those who have died. There can also be happy tears as we share those memories and stories and are laughing uncontrollably. Don't be scared to dance in the rain to your own music! Enjoy the cleansing from above and don't forget, July 4th is right around the corner and you'll want to spend it, surround yourself with those who love you. This program is dedicated to the memory of: Donald “Don” Lemley who died June 29, 2023 David Kleve who died June 29, 2023 Bernice Doege who died June 29, 2021 Vivian Bertram who died June 29, 2021 Nicole Diane Athmann who died June 29, 1988 Harold Rohde who died June 30, 2024 Malayna Schultz who died June 30, 2023 Alma Sand Pundsack who died June 30, 2000 Adeline Hartung who died June 30, 2016 Randy Rieland who died July 1, 2024 Art Wiswell who died July 1, 1965 Daniel “Dan” Kulas who died July 2, 2023 Doreen Kaesner who died July 2, 2022 Kenneth “Kenny” Faber who died July 2, 1993 George Gill who died July 2, 1956 Ardell Koehn who died July 3, 2024 Margaret “Margie” Yurczyk who died July 3, 2024 Arnie Molus who died July 3, 2024 Celestine “Red” Schneider who died July 3, 2017 Bernard Simon who died July 3, 1989 John Arceneau who died July 4, 2024 Dennis “Denny” Weiner who died July 4, 2023 Steven Zimmerman who died July 4, 2017 Thomas Holdvogt who died July 5, 2022 Marge Czech who died July 5, 2012 Lorraine Kroska who died July 5, 2010 Donald Welle who died July 5 2004 Lois Wiechmann-Doll who died July 5, 1999 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday June 22, 2025 Covering the deaths from June 22-28, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. As your summer continues on, you may be asking yourself, or catching yourself having a good time, then stopping for a moment to scold yourself because you've lost someone you love and are supposed to be sad. We then have to ask ourselves what would our loved one be telling us? They would expect us to go to celebrations and take them with you in our heart. Remember your loved one is proud of you for living life. Yes, a part of you died with them but another part of you needs to live for them! Be gentle with you and although it may be a challenge to go to these celebrations... Give yourself credit and celebrate your love of them and their love of you! This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Our Flag Day celebration was yesterday and today we celebrate our fathers with Father's Day! Whether your dad is alive and well or has gone to heaven they helped give us life; thus, we honor them, always in our hearts. Today and this week is a good time to share the legacies of our fathers. Dig out the photo albums and pictures and share the stories behind those pictures. Sometimes it can be hard to talk about those who have gone before us, but in doing so, you'll be surprised at how good you'll feel as you laugh and cry through the sharing. Let's also dedicate today's program to our father's! June is certainly here and as we move into June and all the activities we are anticipating; let's prepare. It's a little scary and sad at times to know your loved one won't be going with you physically to these celebrations. Spiritually you can take your loved one with you knowing they are always in your heart. As a gentle reminder you can take your loved one with you by putting together a small photo album with your loved one’s pictures in it or taking a favorite picture of your loved one in your pocket or purse. When you're at the celebration and become sad, lonely and/or overwhelmed, pull it out to remind you, you're not alone. Your loved one is there with you. Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday May 25, 2025 Covering the deaths from May 25-31, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. The Memorial Day dedication is upon us. This day originated after the Civil War as a way to honor, remember and pay respect to those men and women who died while serving their country. We also use this day to remember and honor our loved ones who have gone before us. This is a day of remembering and honoring their legacy. We, the survivors, have become the storytellers. Our loved ones' legacy will die with them if we don't share and tell their stories. Memorial Day tends to be a somber holiday so share this day of observance with those who love you. Cry and laugh together with lots of hugs! This program is dedicated to the memory of: Ceil Hedglin who died May 24, 1977 Beatrice Tschida who died May 25, 2015 Veronica Brinkmann who died May 25, 2001 Leo Katzner who died May 25, 1976 James “Jim” Jungers who died May 26, 2023 Florentine Hens who died May 26, 2022 Mary Schad who died May 27, 2024 Veronica “Froney” Frie who died May 27, 2017 Jeff Trobec who died May 27, 2009 Benedict Hoppe who died May 27, 2001 Margaret Dobis who died May 27, 1998 Alquin Ritter who died May 27, 1986 Victor “Vic” Odegard who died May 28, 2024 James “Jim” Felling who died May 28, 2023 Marilyn (Notsch) Simon who died May 28, 2012 Vernie Cigelske who died May 28, 2018 Berthold “Bert” Waldorf who died May 29, 2024 Leory Stich who died May 29, 1985 Bernadine Kramer who died May 29, 1983 Thomas “Tom” Guenther who died May 30, 2023 Dale Wegleitner who died May 30, 2023 Judy Cunningham who died May 30, 2017 Mike Kuklok who died May 31, 2024 Edwin K.
