Each week we recognize those who died in the coming week of the previous year and include inspirational music. We also invite listeners to call or write to have their loved one remembered on the program.

Our weekly radio program, "Music & Memories", is broadcast every Sunday morning at 8 a.m. over KASM radio, 1150AM. Each week we recognize those who died in the coming week of the previous year, along with inspirational music.

Invitations to listen are sent out to each family we have served about a week before the program airs. But now we are able to post the script for this coming Sunday right here.

We invite you to have your loved one remembered on the program. Just fill out this form. Remember to send us the name and date of death about ten days ahead of time so that we can get them on the program the week before the anniversary date.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday April 21, 2024 Covering the deaths from April 21-27, 2024 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program on KASM. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Today let’s talk about that new normal that comes after losing a loved one. Although they are gone, life as we know it has changed. If we were a primary caregiver, we are finding lots of empty hours that used to be filled with spending time with our loved one. You'll find yourself picking up the phone to call your loved one only to hang up and remember "they are no longer there". Maybe you're experiencing being "overwhelmed" with all the paperwork to finalize. Loneliness likes to creep in. Either way it's so important to take the time for you! Catching up with old friends, reading that book you didn't have time for or watching a good movie with popcorn! April is here!! This program is dedicated to the memory of: Kya Bartkowicz who died April 11, 2021 Tom C. Heying who died April 16, 2022 Alois Wenning who died April 18, 1980 Rita Ritter who died April 21, 2023 Diana Yorek who died April 22, 2023 James “Jim” Kampsen who died April 22, 2022 Ellen Geschwill who died April 22, 2022 Ronald Justin who died April 22, 2022 Donald “Donnie” Jacobs who died April 22, 2022 Robert “Bob” Welters who died April 22, 2021 Paul Keppers who died April 22, 2020 Betty Jean Trobec who died April 22, 2016 Dennis McCoy who died April 22, 2013 Dave Thomas who died April 22, 2010 Elizabeth Marthaler who died April 22, 2009 Clara Jungles who died April 22, 1999 Wilfred Taufen who died April 22, 1999 Wilfred Vornbrock who died April 22, 1996 Alvina Wuertz who died April 22, 1993 Sydney “Ken” Wood who died April 23, 2022 Rose Schleicher who died April 23, 2000 Veronica Behnen who died April 23, 1989 Myrtle Runquist who died April 24, 2005 Tony Groetsch who died April 24, 2004 Jean L. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program on KASM. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Pain of grief when it's a holiday or celebration like today, St. Patrick’s Day can be difficult. The best support we can give each other and ourselves on these many holidays is to mention our loved ones name and just acknowledge them and that "yes" I miss you. Speaking of our loved one can be so healing and offer a better feeling of the holiday in general. An Irish Blessing... "May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand." Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday March 10, 2024 Covering the deaths from March 10-16, 2024 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program on KASM. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. To quote Alan D. Wolfelt: The experience of grief is only felt when someone of great value, purpose and meaning has been a part of your life. To mourn your loss is required if you are to befriend the love you have granted. To honor your grief is not self-destructive or harmful, it is life-sustaining and life-giving, and it ultimately leads you back to love again. In this way, love is both the cause and the antidote. It is important that you understand that grief and mourning are not the same thing. Grief is the constellation of thoughts and feelings we have when someone we love dies. We can think of it as the container. It holds our thoughts, feelings and images of our experience when someone we love dies. In other words, grief is the internal meaning given to the experience of loss. Mourning is when we take the grief we have on the inside and express it on the outside of ourselves. This program is dedicated to the memory of: Bernard “Bernie” Liestman who died March 6, 1990 Michael Miller who died March 9, 1980 Allen Bellmont who died March 10, 2022 Betty Holm who died March 10, 2022 Viola Bischof who died March 10, 2005 Marilyn Wolbeck who died March 10, 1996 Henry Sand who died March 10, 1977 Irene Kohorst who died March 10, 1947 Arlene Arnzen who died March 11, 2023 Lucille “Sue” Neal who died March 11, 2019 Judy Schmidtz who died March 11, 2018 Leona Schneider who died March 11, 2017 Sylvester Jonas who died March 11, 1984 Judith “Judy” Vogt who died March 12, 2023 Fran Blommel who died March 12, 2023 Ruth Bue who died March 12, 2021 Shirley Theis who died March 12, 1999 Christine Stadherr who died March 12, 1992 Norbert “Norb” Gramke who died March 13, 2022 Alver Mehr who died March 13, 2007 Dennis Larson who died March 14, 2016 Lambert Nathe who died March 14, 2010 LeRoy Spychala who died March 14, 2007 George Langenberger who died March 14, 1987 Renee Muehlenhardt who died March 15, 2023 Robert “Bob” Brenny who died March 15, 2018 Anna Butkowski who died March 15, 1983 Benedict “Ben” Rothstein who died March 16, 2012 Virgil Rachemacher who died March 16, 2005 LaVern Fuechtmann who died March 16, 2001 Norbert “Norby” Messer who died March 16, 1981 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday March 3, 2024 Covering the deaths from March 3-9, 2024 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program on KASM. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. As we head into March it's been said that "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb". We can compare our grief to that because there are days that are good and then those bad days! We forget to give ourselves time and space to "feel" whatever emotions become our journey. The relationship we had with our loved one determines the level of pain and emotions we feel. "The greater the love the greater the pain". There are times we anticipate the expressed emotions, and they don't come. Then suddenly out of nowhere when we least expect it, those emotions and feelings come in like a wave. This is where you need to be gentle with yourself and remember it takes time. Not allowing yourself to feel and express those emotions will only prolong your pain. Take time for you! This program is dedicated to the memory of: Audrey Welinski who died March 3, 2021 Della Thell who died March 3, 2003 Jerry Zietz who died March 3, 1998 Paul Klemm who died March 3, 1996 Courtney Cunningham who died March 4, 1996 Aaron Welle who died March 5, 2021 Jim Zehowdki who died March 5, 2019 Verena Nathe who died March 5, 2015 Nevaeh Hollenkamp who died March 5, 2014 Lydia Mahn who died March 5, 1999 Veronica Middendorf who died March 5, 1986 John R. Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Feb 25, 2024 Covering the deaths from Feb 25 – Mar 2, 2024 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program on KASM. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. As we're leaving February behind, we are reminded of our own self-care. We are always busy with those around us, but many times forget about us and our own grief pain; why that might be well and good, we can't run from our pain. Since the weather has been permitting us to play outside, that is a good start spending "me time" in nature, trying something new, call a friend or venture out to places you've never been before. Pamper yourself doing those activities you used to love to do or find new ones, or just spending time with yourself. Either way it is all good self-care and it is time for you to be gentle with yourself. This program is dedicated to the memory of: Donny Lenarz who died February 18, 2024 Archie MacArthur who died February 22, 1973 Glenn Hommerding who died February 24, 2013 Michael “Mike” Ellering who died February 25, 2023 Hooky Kuhl who died February 25, 2008 John Geschwill who died February 25, 1980 Joseph “Joe” Boecker who died February 26, 2023 David “Dave” Schwanke who died February 26, 2020 Edmund Gillitzer who died February 26, 1990 Sister Julitta Hoppe who died February 26, 1971 Aaron Schmitz who died February 27, 2022 Nick Czech who died February 27, 2001 Clara Zenzen who died February 27, 1991 Valeria Mareck who died February 28, 2009 Sister Mary Bernarda Sanoski who died February 28, 2019 Duane “Whitey” Herzog who died February 28, 2017 Stan Athmann wo died February 28, 1999 Rose Court who died February 29, 1996 Marie “Mayme” Imdieke who died March 1, 2020 Mark Schumer who died March 1, 2020 Tom Deters who died March 1, 2015 Loretta Hinnenkamp who died March 2, 1980 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Feb 18, 2024 Covering the deaths from Feb 18-24, 2024 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program on KASM. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Your grief journey is individual and personal. Everyone experiences grief differently and there is no right or wrong way to grieve unless you're hurting yourself or others. Grief has no rules and no timetable. Always know as you move forward, grief will not be without also moving backwards. It is so important to never forget to be kind to yourself and allow yourself to be patient and forgiving. Don't pass judgement on yourself, and always know you did the best you could have done with the information you had at the time. The pain of grief will get softer with time. Allow the tears, and the laughter and all those feelings you are feeling to flow freely.
