Invitations to listen are sent out to each family we have served about a week before the program airs. But now we are able to post the script for this coming Sunday right here.

We invite you to have your loved one remembered on the program. Just fill out this form. Remember to send us the name and date of death about ten days ahead of time so that we can get them on the program the week before the anniversary date.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Sept 7, 2025 Covering the deaths from Sept 7-13, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. September brings another change, the season of Autumn. The weather is already conforming with the cooler temps and mother nature with the migration of birds, to name a few. How have you conformed to your new normal? When we lose someone we love so deeply to death, a part of us goes with them as well and life as we knew it will never be the same; thus, your new normal. Grief pain has no timeline although the pain may soften with time it will never really go away. As you move forward, you’ll learn to integrate your loss into your self-being and find ways to honor the memory of what was lost. Remembering our loved ones are always with us in our heart and in our memories! Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Aug 24, 2025 Covering the deaths from Aug 24-30, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. With August, brings the dog days of summer. Life starts shifting from freestyle with no routines to being back to a routine. In parallel to your grief journey, you are now working on or have been moving ahead with a new normal. After we lose someone we love, the normal that was no longer can be. We have to adjust to life without our loved one, thus the new normal. As the end of summer approaches, so does the new routine. It's not fair to you to believe it will ever be the same. Seasons change and with grief pain, we are forced to change too! Although we fight change it always is for the best. Pretty soon your new normal will be your new routine. As we enter into August, we are reminded that as with our lives coming to an end, summer too is coming to an end; leaving only memories to celebrate and remember. As we move forward after losing a loved one, we are reminded of endings. As birth is our beginning, death becomes the ending. Christian beliefs support life after death now becomes a spiritual form. As the living survivors we will experience tears and sadness along with all the other emotions; but hey, our loved ones are worth it! It's ok to feel and remember how they touched our lives. They are always in our hearts, and we have now become the storyteller's. Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Aug 3, 2025 Covering the deaths from Aug 3-9, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Welcome August... Some folks believe their grief pain goes away with time. Actually, it gets softer over time but never really goes away. Our grief pain is as deep as our love was for our loved one. It doesn't matter how much time has come and gone; you still have your memories and emotions of the love you shared and still find yourself remembering; it’s these moments that may force you to stop what you are doing and feel. Your loved one is and will always be cemented in your heart and they are worth the emotions felt and tears shed. Keep their legacy alive by sharing those memories and telling those stories. Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday July 27, 2025 Covering the deaths from July 27-Aug 2, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. As we near the end of July we sometimes marvel at how time flies; where did it go? As rain falls, we are reminded of the many tears we've shed and how cleansing we felt after. Mother earth also needs a good cry now and again. Rainy days can be challenging if you love to be outside, so this might be the time to sit back and read that book you've been putting off? Maybe calling up that friend you often think of but don't call. Maybe it's time to go out with friends or connect with family you've haven't seen in a long time. Rainy days don't have to be gloomy; make your rainy day fun and always remember; YOU are in charge of YOUR feelings; not the weather. Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday July 13, 2025 Covering the deaths from July 13-19, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. By now the July 4th holiday is behind you and a somewhat normalcy is back in your life. As you look back to how it all went, try to pick out what worked for you or didn't work for you. Grief is individual and what may work for one may not work for another. Were you able to relax and share or did you spend time in the background. When we talk about what worked for you, we mean, were you surrounded by folks who love and support you? Did you venture out and do activities you weren't able to do before, or did you just stay home? These are the questions to ask yourself as you look back and by doing so, you'll know what works for you. continue to share the memories and tell those stories! This program is dedicated to the memory of: Olive Meller who died July 13, 2018 Leona Winczewski who died July 13, 2017 David “Dave” Walter who died July 13, 2013 Vicki Athmann who died July 13, 1999 Lori Thomas who died July 14, 2023 Alvera Streich who died July 14, 2015 Peter “Pete” Jennissen who died July 14, 2013 Ralph Meller who died July 14, 1993 Margaret Holmquist who died July 15, 2023 Don “Donnie” Herzog who died July 15, 2022 Gerald Zenzen who died July 15, 2021 Darren Drone who died July 15, 1988 Jane Meyer who died July 16, 2024 Bernard “Benny” Majerus who died July 16, 2023 Charles Beutz who died July 16, 1961 Robert Kern who died July 17, 2022 Norris Sowada who died July 17, 2014 Anna Barthel who died July 17, 1954 Elenore Caspers who died July 18, 2022 John Klaphake who died July 18, 2022 LeRoy “Lee” Wolbeck who died July 19, 2024 Chad Toenyan who died July 19, 2022 Lorraine Schwieters who died July 19, 2018 Richard Rademacher who died July 19, 2016 Lila Thomas who died July 19, 2013 Art Pfannenstein who died July 19, 1990 Matilda Wolbeck who died July 19, 1983 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday July 6, 2025 Covering the deaths from July 6-12, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. By now your 4th of July celebrations are ongoing. Your grief emotions may have challenged you while you were attending the celebration and when we think of celebrating, our grief pain likes to stop us from having a good time. Grief emotions are unpredictable and as with our emotions, like to think they're in charge. Dealing with your grief starts by recognizing and naming it. For example: "I feel sad today". By saying this out loud you have recognized your feelings and taken the power away. You may not like the word celebration for now, but a good get-together is very healing! Let's take a moment to recognize and honor all those men and women who fought for the freedom we live today; including the freedom to grief!
