Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. 
 
This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. 
 
The Autumn solstice has begun and with it the changes in nature. We can never get away from change. Some changes are welcome and others, like the loss of a loved one to death, become a challenge. Experiencing our emotions is challenging enough then add the seasonal changes to that. We are very sensitive when it comes to the pain of grief. The weather changes only exhilarate those feelings of loss and sadness. Sunshine brings us hope and happiness where as cloudy weather brings about sadness, stormy weather; anger and frustration and cold weather brings on loneliness and despair. Just realizing this is half the battle. Celebrate your loved one's heaven date with the sharing of stories and memories. This will assist in creating your own sunshine and put you in control.
