Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday, Feb 22, 2026 Covering the deaths from Feb 22-28, 2026 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. As we remember and honor our loved ones this week, let's focus on their story. Who they were, what they accomplished and the legend they left behind. As we celebrate who they are, we take the focus off of our own grief pain. We know we have bad days, but we forget sometimes we have good days too! Coming to grips with the reality that our pain will most definitely get softer with time but will never really go away. We learn to live with it. Our new normal. Let's focus on sharing their stories and your memories of them. By openly sharing your emotions with a trusted friend, that also helps you move forward in your journey. Always in your heart and no one can take that away! This program is dedicated to: Hubert Sunderman who died February 21, 2013 Leona Heying who died February 22, 2000 Edwin Hiltner who died February 22, 2000 Harold “Harry” Bassett who died February 22, 2013 Ben Westendorf who died February 22, 1993 Doris Landowski who died February 23, 2008 Barbara “Barb” Grove who died February 24, 2025 Gerald “Jerry” Frericks who died February 24, 2024 Butch Fietek who died February 24, 2020 Gary Primus who died February 24, 2019 Angie Hansen Workman who died February 24, 2016 Cyril Scherer who died February 24, 2007 Edward Hedglin who died February 24, 2001 Hooky Kuhl who died February 25, 2008 John Geschwill who died February 25, 1980 Oscar “Sonny” Hoffman who died February 26, 2025 Rosemary “Rosie” Ritter who died February 26, 2024 Shirley Heidecker who died February 26, 2013 Edmund Gillitzer who died February 26, 1990 Sister Julitta Hoppe who died February 26, 1971 Nick Czech who died February 27, 2001 Clara Zenzen who died February 27, 1991 Virgil Marthaler who died February 28, 2025 DeWayne Dirschel who died February 28, 2024 Duane Herzog who died February 28, 2017 Valeria Mareck who died February 28, 2009 Stan Athmann who died February 28, 1999 Rose Court who died February 29, 1996 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday, Feb 15, 2026 Covering the deaths from Feb 15-21, 2026 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Tomorrow is President's Day and as we walk our journey of loss, many of our presidents experienced the death of family while they were in office. President Teddy Roosevelt and President John F. Kennedy come to mind. President Roosevelt felt the extreme pain of losing his wife and mother, on the same day, Valentine’s Day, hours apart. He also lost two sons too death. President Kennedy lost a child, two days old. When we are grieving the loss of someone close to us we tend to think we're the only one who is experiencing the awful pain of loss. The Presidents, as us, had to move forward in their responsibilities with the pain in their heart. Life does go on and as you celebrate the loved one that you've lost, remember, you are moving forward with them in your heart, always! Sometimes it's comforting to know you're not alone. Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday, Feb 8, 2026 Covering the deaths from Feb 8-14, 2026 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Valentine’s Day, the day of love, is right around the corner. Missing someone we love dearly is never easy, but their heaven date is a gentle reminder to celebrate who they were. Grief pain is certainly not something we learned in school like spelling and arithmetic. Rather, the pain is our response to losing someone close to us to death. Their death doesn't have to be final. We know, our heart reminds us of the pain of their loss, but our head sometimes likes to tell us it isn't true. We will go through waves of emotions as we move forward on our journey but always, always, remember your loved ones are always with you in your heart! Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday, Feb 1, 2026 Covering the deaths from Feb 1-7, 2026 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. In welcoming February, the month symbolizing love, reminds us of the deep love we have for our loved ones who have gone before us. Along with your new normal, you are learning to cope with the loss of living without them. Coping means allowing yourself to feel the pain, focus on self-care and finding ways to keep their memory alive. That's where the sharing of the stories and memories comes in. By sharing those stories and memories you help keep your loved one's legacy alive and well. You have now become the storyteller. Without you sharing those stories and memories, your loved ones die a second death and their legacy dies with them. So, continue to celebrate the love you have for them and the love they have for you. Tell those stories. This program is dedicated to: Jacob Lieser who died January 28, 1996 Richard “Rich” Dirkes who died February 1, 2025 Virgil Kalthoff who died February 1, 2021 Bob Roering who died February 1, 2001 Raymond “Ray” VanHavermaet who died February 1, 2001 Helen “Kitty” Wedel who died February 1, 1986 Joe Schulte who died February 1, 1984 Peter Trettel who died February 1, 1975 M. This is never true when you lose someone you love deeply! They are and will always be in your heart. There are the three C’s to consider in healing grief pain. Choose, Connect and Communicate. Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Jan 11, 2026 Covering the deaths from Jan 11-17, 2026 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. By now most New Year's resolutions have been broken or forgotten. January brings with it the January blues, starting with after the holiday blues, shorter days, less sunlight and the feelings of being all alone. To all of this, we add our grief pain of missing our loved one. This is a good time to make your own sunshine and ask yourself, what would my loved one want me to do? Maybe creating a memory album for your loved ones? Visiting a hobby store to find some treasures to make for remembrance? Watching a favorite movie that makes you laugh? Making a point to go out with friends. January weather likes to provide dark and gloomy days. Don’t let that stop you from finding your sunshine! With today being the 4th day of 2026 you may be taking it easy after cramming all the get togethers of the holiday season. We know that with the incoming New Year comes not only change but challenges as well. The pain you've experienced after the death of your loved one reminds you of the changes and the challenges you faced. This is a good time to give yourself credit. Life changes and challenges are a given. We know there is no controlling the changes, but we can take a look at the challenges and see how we can eliminate or soften. It is how we look at those changes and challenges and include them into our lives. With grief you may feel you have no control but oh, yes, you do! Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Dec 21, 2025 Covering the deaths from Dec 21-27, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Christmas is approaching fast and as soon as it is here: it will be gone! There are always highs and lows during the holiday season, with the anticipation of what's ahead and then slam, it's all over! Add your grief pain to this roller coaster and it's no wonder you feel exhausted. To assist you in minimizing this extra anxiety, let's see our options. First, what are you comfortable with doing? Maybe you'd welcome the planning and preparation of Christmas at your home or maybe you'd rather not this year. Saying no to overwhelming events, practicing self-compassion, allowing all your feelings, sadness and joy to be recognized. You may practice the old traditions or create new ones, like sharing stories and memories and creating a memorial. Always have a Plan B in case Plan A falls short. Acknowledging and giving yourself permission to feel sad, anger or even joy is all ok. Grief and Joy can get along and that doesn't' mean you've forgotten your loved ones. It's very healthy to balance some alone time along with social events. It's your grief pain; there are no right or wrong way to grieve.
