Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. 
 
This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. 
 
Happy New Year! With today being the 4th day of 2026 you may be taking it easy after cramming all the get togethers of the holiday season. We know that with the incoming New Year comes not only change but challenges as well. The pain you've experienced after the death of your loved one reminds you of the changes and the challenges you faced. This is a good time to give yourself credit. Life changes and challenges are a given. We know there is no controlling the changes, but we can take a look at the challenges and see how we can eliminate or soften. It is how we look at those changes and challenges and include them into our lives. With grief you may feel you have no control but oh, yes, you do! Honor your loved one with stories and memories and take your control back!
