Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. 
 
This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. 
 
How is your summer going so far? When we lose someone, we deeply loved to death, we sometimes forget we have choices of who we are and how to feel. Sadness of your loss is a normal reaction along with anger, guilt and the should haves. Yes, it's true, we can allow all those emotions to take control over us and our lives, but that is never healthy. Why waste a day allowing those emotions to control you when you could be enjoying your day? When an emotion wants to take you over, identify the emotion, feel it and speak it out loud to take its power away. Now you can go on with your day still missing them but being in control of your emotions. After all, your loved ones wouldn't want you to be sad but would want you to find peace and enjoy your day.
