Sharon Goellner, age 71 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Community Memorial Home in Osakis, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 7 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 6 p.m. Monday evening.
Sharon Anne Fischer was born on August 25, 1948, in Richmond, Minnesota, to Andrew and Hildegarde (Ehresmann) Fischer. She graduated from St. Boniface High School in Cold Spring, Minnesota, in 1966. She pursued various endeavors following high school including extensive work as a seamstress and tailor.
On September 8, 1980, Sharon was united in marriage to James Craig Goellner in St. Boniface Church in Cold Spring, Minnesota. Sharon spent most of her life devoted to her husband and family who could always rely on her for love and support. Her greatest pride was her grandchildren whom she always enjoyed babysitting. She was especially grateful to be able to meet her newest grandson born on December 5, 2019. Sharon was driven by a deep devotion to her Catholic faith and could regularly be seen at church and chapel.
Sharon was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.
Survivors include children, Philip (Sara) Goellner of Sauk Centre, Sister Sharon Rose "Anna" Goellner, O.P., of Nashville, TN, and Emily (Kyle) Hoium of Melrose; grandchildren, Raphael, Magdalen, Eleanor, Elijah, Maximilian, Dominic, and Gabriel; sisters, Joan (Jeff) Ratcliff and Marlene Fischer; and brother, Leon (Kathy) Fischer.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, James; Guadalupe, a child in infancy; and her parents.
