Margaret Ann “Maggie” Franklin, age 82 of Sauk Centre, formerly of St. Paul, died Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the CentraCare Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Maggie was born in Minot, North Dakota on July 20, 1937 to George A. and Marie (McIsaac) Cuffe.
Maggie was married to Lynn Franklin on July 25, 1955; they were married 64 years.
In 1960, the couple moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota, where Maggie worked as a mail room supervisor at the Federal Land Bank for six years. They later worked together to run Sunset Resort in Backus, Minnesota.
Maggie was a woman true to her heritage and possessed a great love of Irish music. When she wasn’t singing or humming, she could be found cooking a delicious meal or engrossed in a book. Maggie was a prolific reader with a fondness for a good story.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Franklin of Sauk Centre; son, Lynn Franklin, Jr. of Sauk Centre; daughters, Kathleen Suemnick of Pequot Lakes, Dorothy Smith and Colleen Franklin, both of St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marie Harmon; and brother, Daniel Cuffe.
