Margaret L. Krupa, age 75 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at her home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Marty Porter officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Margaret Louise Johnson was born March 11, 1946 in Slayton, Minnesota to Simon and Sophie (Huge) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Ronald Krupa on January 20, 1968 in St. Francis.  She worked at St. Michael’s Nursing Home in Sauk Centre for many years and then at the Sauk Centre High School from 1979 to 2003. She started out as a custodian and later as a paraprofessional.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre and the Paul F. Donart V.F.W Post 2853 Auxiliary. Margaret enjoyed cake decorating, baking, cooking, embroidering, sewing, painting and varnishing, but most of all, taking care of her grandchildren and husband.

Survivors include her children, Brenda (Scott) Cheadle of Sauk Centre, Mike (Becky) Krupa of Sauk Centre, and Patty (Allan) Tate of Sauk Centre; seven grandchildren, Connor Krupa, Kelsey Houg, Megan Haase-Vanderwal, Ryan Krupa, Katelynn Cheadle, Alexis Tate, and Alexander Tate; six great-grandchildren, Kadince Holmquist, Ayden Haase, Jaxen Haase, Aubree Houg, Trinity Schindler, and Mackenzie Schindler; brothers and sisters, Linda (Robert) Lindsley of Park Rapids, Calvin (Gail) Johnson of Slayton, Sandra (Leslie) DeGroot of Lake Wilson, Ernest (Debbie) Johnson of Slayton, Myron (Beverly) Johnson of Slayton, Edwin Johnson of Los Angeles, California, Richard Johnson of Slayton, Julie Ebbers of Pipestone, and Tamara (Florencio) Torres-Reyes of Hastings; sisters-in-law, Donna Johnson of Slayton, Kitty Krupa of Willmar, and LuAnn Kockler of St. Cloud; and brother-in-law, Myron Krupa of Willmar.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Krupa on March 3, 2021; parents; infant sister, Pamela Johnson; sister, Mary Byrne; brother, Keith Johnson; brothers-in-law, Larry Byrne, Ray Krupa, Jack Krupa, and Dan Euteneuer; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Euteneuer and Carol Ann Krupa.

Serving as casket bearers will be Kermit Drevlow, Todd Christianson, Shawn Wunderlich, John Folk, Josh Engel, and Jay Beilke. Crucifer will be carried by Kadince Holmquist.
