On August 30, 1949 she was united in marriage to Henry “Hank” Schoenberg at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. They farmed near Spring Hill until their retirement in 1981 and move to Greenwald.  Lillian helped on the farm but mostly spent her time taking care of her family.

Lillian enjoyed playing cards with her neighbors, golfing, bowling, and taking an occasional trip to the casino.  She was a great cook and her specialty was her dressing.

Survivors include her children, Dan Schoenberg of Greenwald, Lois (Al) Dorschner of Mantorville, Jim (Darlene) Schoenberg of Spring Hill, Nancy (Mike) Zschunke of Rochester, Cindy (Jim) Altendahl of Eagan, and Brian (Brenda) Schoenberg of Avon; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Valeria, Rita, and Tillie Gerding.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Schoenberg; parents; brothers, Elmer, Raymond, Wilfred, Robert and Rueben Gerding; and two infant sisters, Bertha and Bernice Gerding.
