Joyce A. Winter, age 71 of Albany, died after a brief illness on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

A Mass and celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at The Church of Seven Dolors Parish in Albany, MN.

Visitation will be held 2 hours prior in the gathering area at church and lunch will follow at the church.

Joyce was born to Ervin & Betty (Kraemer) Sand, graduated from Albany Senior High School, then attended St. Cloud State University. She worked for Fingerhut for many years, then for PCI (Progressive Contractors Inc) as an office manager.  She then worked for Sand Companies Inc. for the rest of her career and retired early to care for her husband, Bert Winter. Bert and Joyce were united in marriage on May 30, 1981 in Buffalo, MN.

She was a very busy and motivated woman; an active member of The Church of Seven Dolors Parish, the Capital Campaign for Parish Center, a board member for Mother of Mercy Foundation and the Albany Community Center, a member of Christian Mothers and Walk to End Alzheimers.She had a love for traveling, spending time at her property on Pine Lake (bonfires!), bowling, puzzles, reading People Magazine, snap chatting, playing cards, gardening (tomatoes, beans & cucumbers), going to plays & concerts, and spending time with family & friends. She was also very proud of her dual citizenship to Luxembourg.

She will truly be missed by her mother Betty Sand; her children: Bruce (Marsha) Winter, Brent (friend Rhonda) Winter, Brenna (John) Linn, Berleen (Jason) Hollenkamp, and Patrick Stuart; her 13 grandchildren; her 5 great-grandchildren (& one on the way!); her siblings: Jim (Jean) Sand, Dennis (Joan) Sand, Judy (Eldred) Dingman, Dale (Mary) Sand, Leo Sand, Tom (Ginger) Sand, Brian (Sherry) Sand; her sister-in-law: Karen Weber-Sand; her godchildren: Taylor Magnus, John Sand, & Dan Dingman; her many nieces & nephews and great-nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Bert Winter; her father Ervin Sand; her sisters, Mary Lou, Mary Kay, & Diane; her nephew Joey; and her cat, Sassy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to charity of the families’ choosing.
