Tony F. Lindhorst, age 87 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Cura Care Center in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. A rosary will begin at 4 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship with the family. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m., and military honors will be provided by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard at 7 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Nebraska.
Tony Francis Lindhorst was born on July 31, 1937, in Nebraska, the youngest of three sons to Henry and Mary (Kemmel) Lindhorst. He graduated from high school in 1955 and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Margaret “Maggie” Krienert in Nebraska, where he held various roles including country-school teacher, bartender and bar manager, and feed salesman.
In 1975, Tony and his family relocated to Minnesota, where he partnered with others to establish Northern States Feeder Pigs in Sauk Centre, a business that operated for many years. Later, Tony and Maggie owned and operated the Tic Toc bar until their retirement in 2000.
Tony was a proud member of the American Legion Post 67 and the Sauk Centre Lions Club. He enjoyed cheering on the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, teaching kids how to fish, spending time with family and friends, and was a devoted Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Maggie Lindhorst of Sauk Centre; children, Dan (Brenda) Lindhorst of Brooklyn Park, Kris Vold of Wahpeton, North Dakota, and Mark (Shelly) Lindhorst of Gilbert; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Mary, Joan, and Toni; brothers, Patrick and Leo Lindhorst; and son-in-law, Brad Vold.
