Tom “Tutone” Meyer, age 55 of Sauk Centre, died unexpectedly at St. Cloud Hospital on April 18, 2019 surrounded by his family.

A funeral service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, 25th at Little Sauk Long Bridge Lutheran Church, rural Todd County. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Wednesday, April 24th from 4-8 p.m. at Patton Schad Funeral Home, 620 Beltline Road, Sauk Centre, MN.

Thomas John Meyer was born December 11, 1963. Tom was the 8th of 11 children born to Alban John Meyer and Fernalyce (Hemmi) Meyer. Tom was a devoted husband, loving father, and a kind brother who will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A graduate of Sauk Centre High School, Tom remained in the area working a variety of jobs in construction and fine carpentry. His early years at Dreamer’s/RCL’s Bowling Alley gave him his nickname “Tutone.” For the last 22 years, Tom was employed by Citi-Lites as an underground cable locator. He was also pursuing an on-line degree in computer science. Tom enjoyed his childhood summers at Birch Lake and recently put his creative and inventive energy into developing a home on Birch Lake where he and Marcy hoped to retire someday.

Tom is survived by his wife Marcyne Chalupnik-Meyer; step-daughter, Megan (Tony) Wingard; and step-son, Lucas Chalupnik. He was also looking forward to the upcoming birth of his grandson, Logan Wingard.  Tom will be missed by 5 sisters and 4 brothers, Carolyn (Allan) Mosier, Michele (Campbell) Meyer Jenkins, Marie (Marty Swanson) Sedivy, Robert (Denise) Meyer, Susan (Whitney Thurlow) Meyer, Ann (Paul) Zilka, Patrick (Mary) Meyer, Joseph Meyer, and Mathew (Jenn) Meyer. He was loved by 19 nieces and nephews, 9 great-nieces and nephews, his dear aunts and uncles, and many, many cousins.  Tom is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Karen Lea and Lawrence “Larry” Pope.

He was preceded by his parents and infant sister, Donna Marie.
