Sharon Lee Klein, the youngest of 19 children, was born July 20, 1945 in Holdingford, Minnesota to Paul and Rose (Baggenstoss) Klein. She graduated from Albany High School in 1963. Sharon was united in marriage to Loren Lehner on June 18, 1966 at Ebenezer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Albany. They made their home in Winsted for three years and then began farming on the family farm north of Albany in 1971. After retiring from the farm, Sharon worked at Tru Valu in Albany and in the kitchen at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home. Sharon’s strong faith in the Lord gave her much joy in life. She lived her life as the hands and feet of Jesus. She will be deeply missed.
Sharon enjoyed reading, sewing, crafting, gardening, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and baking. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she served as president of the women’s group now called Lady Generators, sang in the church choir, and was known as the “soup lady.” Sharon loved being a hostess especially for Friday night coffee klatch with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Wendy (Craig) Hoffman of Inver Grove Heights, Amy (Tim) Schmitt of Albany and Molly (Dwight) Kohout of Albany; grandchildren, Jack Hoffman, Alex, Jeremiah, Hannah, Billy and TJ Schmitt, Maddy Lehner, Emma and Natalie Kohout; great grandchildren, Alleah, Raelyn, Silas, and Whitney Schmitt; and Isabelle Lucas; sisters, Doris Koehn and Janet Cigelske.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Lehner on October 2, 2012; parents, Paul and Rose Klein; and 16 siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Savior’s Lady Generators.
