Robert "Bob" Pauly, age 92 of Albany, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026 with his family by his side at Cura Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Edward Vebelun, O.S.B. officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, May 28 at the Seven Dolors Gathering Area. Burial will be at the parish cemetery with military honors performed by the Albany American Legion.
Robert Lewis Pauly was born on November 20, 1933 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Carl and Rose (Sundermann) Pauly. He proudly served his county in the United States Navy, before returning home to begin his career. On April 23, 1955, he was united in marriage to Florence Budde at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
Bob was the owner of Robert Pauly Construction, Inc., where he took great pride in his work and craftsmanship. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family. A man of faith, Bob was a longtime member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church.
In his free time, Bob enjoyed the simple things in life. He especially loved fishing, whether it was an early morning on the lake or a quiet afternoon by the water. Fishing gave him time to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage. Bob was also known to play the harmonica, often bringing smiles to those around him with a familiar tune. Bob often volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Albany American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend. His steady presence, strong values, and the life he built will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Kevin) Lemke of Cold Spring, Dan (Cindy) Pauly of Elk River, Patricia Winter of Albany, Mary (Thomas) Budd of Minong, WI, and Roger Pauly of Albany; grandchildren, Jesse (Krista) Lemke, Randy (Tracy) Lemke, Michael Winter, Kali (Karsten) Sinn, and Maggie (Lukas) Olson; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and fishing buddies.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Florence Pauly; his parents, Carl and Rose Pauly; his daughter, Sandra Pauly; his son, Wayne Pauly; his grandson, Christopher Winter; his brothers, Carl, Gordy, Jim, and Earl Pauly; and his sisters, Rose Stoffer, Rita Pauly, and Jean Warzecha.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the hospice nurses at Moments Hospice and Cura nursing home and assisted living for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Bob and his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated to Meals-on-Wheels/Catholic Charities.
