Rita Von Wahlde

Rita K. Von Wahlde, age 76 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 19 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Jim Maderak officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. followed by the Christian Mothers at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Rita Kathryn Kampsen was born November 20, 1942 in Melrose, Minnesota to Henry and Margaret (Kuefler) Kampsen. Rita graduated from Melrose High School in 1960. On August 21, 1965 she was united in marriage to Raymond Von Wahlde at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Rita worked five and a half years at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre before starting her family. She later worked at Schaefer's Market and was a lunch lady at Holy Family School.

She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers. Rita enjoyed sewing, playing cards with the grandchildren, going to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities, and loved spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ray Von Wahlde of Sauk Centre; children, Kathleen (Doug Drevlow) Von Wahlde of Sauk Centre, Susan (Dean) Ahrens of Grey Eagle, and Nancy (Dennis) Ahrens of Sauk Centre; grandchildren, Chris (Sam), Mitch, Tyler (Tina Bauer), Doug, Kyle (Ashley Hagen), Katelyn (Mitch Wolbeck), Kali, and Kenna; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Jane (Math) Welle of Greenwald; brother, James (Bonnie) Kampsen of Elrosa; brother-in-law, Elmer Von Wahlde; sister-in-law, Alma Von Wahlde; and many nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Margaret Kampsen.

Serving as casket bearers will be Chris Ahrens, Mitch Ahrens, Tyler Ahrens, Doug Ahrens, Kyle Ahrens, and Mitch Wolbeck. Cross bearer will be Kali Ahrens and scripture bearer will be Katelyn Ahrens. Gift bearers will be Kenna Ahrens and Sam Ahrens and the reader will be Sara Folk.
