Patricia A. “Pat” Roehrl, age 92 of Melrose, went to the Lord on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Cura of Melrose Park View Place in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Mitchell Bechtold officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Mass will be livestreamed and the link can be found at: oneinfaith.org
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Patricia Ann Kelly was born on February 23, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, to John and Elizabeth (Stroud) Kelly. She was baptized on March 11, 1934. She graduated from St. Brendan’s Elementary School and High School before pursuing her nursing education at Mary Immaculate Hospital School of Nursing in Jamaica, New York, where she earned her diploma in nursing. She later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hunter College in New York and went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing from The Catholic University of America.
Throughout her distinguished career, Pat served as Assistant Director of Nursing Services for DC General Hospital; Administrator of Nursing Services for Medical Center Hospital in Vermont; and consultant to the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and Veterans Administration.
Pat married Arthur P. Roehrl on April 15, 1978 at Our Lady, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Arlington, Virginia. In May 2022, Art and Pat moved from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to Cura of Melrose Park View Place in Melrose, Minnesota.
She was a devoted parishioner of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from 1982 to 2022, where she served as president and member of the Women’s Club, Parish Delegate of the Synod of Charleston, Chairperson of the Prayer and Worship Committee, member of the Parish Council, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and Coordinator. Pat was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose.
Pat generously volunteered as Coordinator of the Genetic Birth Defects Clinic at the Medical University of South Carolina Health Department from 1982 to 1998. She also served on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross from 1984 to 1991 and was Disaster Chairperson from 1989 to 1991. Pat enjoyed needlepoint, was an avid golfer, and loved traveling, especially trips back to Minnesota.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Kelly and Agnes (James) Hinnigan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin Roehrl, Tillie Bueckers, LaVina Adamski, Lila Wessel, Elmer (EJ) Roehrl, Marlin Roehrl, Louis Roehrl, and John (Charlotte) Roehrl; and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur P. Roehrl, on October 19, 2023; her parents; her siblings, John Kelly, Clare (Robert) Kelly, Paul Kelly, Blanche (James) Doran, and Philip Kelly; and sisters-in-law, Armelia Bueckers and Viola Humbert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
