On September 23, 1945, Myrtle married Merle Judes at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. They spent more than 45 years farming and raising their family of six children, five sons and one daughter. Myrtle enjoyed gardening, canning and preserving the fruits of her labor, and was especially known for baking her famous apple pies. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, Scrabble, and Rummikub, as well as an occasional trip to the casino. Myrtle enjoyed the company of others and always had a cup of coffee and time for a visit with anyone who stopped by.
Survivors include her children, Kenneth (Bonnie) Judes, Daniel (Darla) Judes, and Carl (Sandy) Judes; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
