Michele L. Toeben , age 43 of Freeport died Saturday, March 8, 2003 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Freeport with Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church in Freeport. Christian Mothers will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Michele Toeben was born on June 10, 1959 in Melrose, Minnesota to Jerome N. and Theckla B. (Toenies) Scherping. She married Dennis C. Toeben on January 29, 1989 in St. Joseph, Minnesota. They resided in Freeport. She was employed by Jennie-O-Foods and the Melrose Hospital. Shelly enjoyed painting, ceramics, crocheting, fishing, volleyball and softball. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Toeben of Freeport, son, Joe Toeben at home; father, Jerome Scherping of Freeport; brothers and sisters, Roger Scherping (Rita) of St. Joseph, Darlene Scherping (Jack) of Grey Eagle, Marlene Heinen of Melrose, Mark Scherping (Pat) of Freeport.

Michele was preceded in death by her mother, Theckla.

Casket bearers will be Kevin Heinen, Ryan Scherping, Terry Braegelmann, Dennis Fagerstrom, Janel Scherping, Gwen Sherping. Cross bearer will be Whitney LeClaire. Honorary bearers will be Shelly Metzger, Mary Sundermann, Evie Eggert, Ruth Wiechman, Tina Tschida, June Brickweg, Nancy Herdering and Sharon Ettle.
