Mary Wendt

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa, Minnesota with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 9 a.m. at the church.

Mary Ann Stich was born in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, December 10, 1932 to John and Margaret (Michaels) Stich. At a very young age, she worked hard to help care for her siblings after her mother passed away. Her hard work and determination followed her in life. Mary Ann lived most of her early adult life in St. Paul and moved to Wisconsin in 1976 to a hobby farm. She worked various jobs through her years but her work never stopped after a 9 - 5 job as she loved to garden at the farm and care for the animals.

Mary Ann was active with friends and family as she enjoyed bowling and playing cards. It was a daily scene that she could be found watching birds and wildlife while at their countryside house by Grey Eagle, Minnesota.

Mary Ann could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She was remembered by her grandchildren as the woman who could fix or sew anything. She always helped those in need and gave advice to those who wanted it. Mary Ann cared greatly for others, especially her family. She will be greatly missed.
Mary Ann Wendt died on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in Saint Cloud with her family at her side at the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 25 days.

She is survived by her husband, Ted (Duane) Vance; her siblings, Edward Stich, Carl (Annette) Stich and Margaret Gangl; daughters, Connie Wendt of Freeport, Colleen Kaiser of Scandia, and Terry Stone of Knoxville, TN; step-children, Jill (John) Ward and Jeff Vance; grandchildren, Dana (Kevin) Nusbaum, Thomas Mergens, Carmen Worms, Lauren (Christopher) Van Hove, Neil Worms, Courtney Koepke, Alex Austing, Marcus Kaiser, Tonya Vance, Tierra Vance, and Brandon Vance; and great-grandchild, Jocelyn Niche.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Ervin and Ella Stich, Cletus and Gloria Stich, and Melvin Stich as well as her parents, John and Margaret Stich.
