Marian was born on February 27, 1934 to Leo and Elizabeth (Reinert) Lintgen in Mayhew Lake, MN.  She grew up in the St. Cloud area with her five sisters and two brothers.  She graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1952.   She married Meinrad “Meinie” Janssen on September 4, 1952 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake.  Together they ran their family farm south of Albany until his death on January 3, 2002.  At that time, she moved to Albany where she resided until her move to Assumption Nursing Home.

Marian worked part-time as a salesperson at Schiff’s Shoes during their busy periods.  She worked at Farming Elementary School as a classroom aide.  She spent many years working in the Activities Department at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany.  After retiring from there, she spent many hours volunteering at the nursing home.  Marian was a Communion minister at St. Catherine’s Parish in Farming and at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home.  She taught religion to elementary students for St. Catherine’s Parish and Seven Dolors Parish.  She was a member of Seven Dolors parish, Mother of Mercy Auxiliary, and a great supporter of Holy Family School where her grandchildren and great-grandchildren attended.  Marian enjoyed fishing, especially spearing, playing cards and dice, going to the casino, old time music, reading, gardening, hummingbirds, traveling and decorating for every holiday of the year.  Each year her family was treated to a very fancy birthday cake baked and decorated by her.  Marian delighted in her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will all miss her every day.
