Lucille T. Imdieke, age 96 of Meire Grove, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Cura Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 21 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meire Grove with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose followed by a rosary led by St. John's Society at 8 p.m. and visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church.
Lucille Theresa Schleppenbach was the eldest of seven children, born on February 25, 1928 in Albany, Minnesota to Frank and Anna (Meier) Schleppenbach. She grew up on the Schleppenbach family farm and graduated from Albany High School. In her early years, Lucille had various jobs including working at a café, bakery, women’s clothing store, and grocery store. On June 12, 1951 she married Lawrence Imdieke at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Lucille and Lawrence owned and operated Imdieke Store in Meire Grove for 41 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John’s Catholic Aid Association, St. Mary’s Women’s Society, and also sang in the St. John’s Choir for many years.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Mike) Klaphake of Melrose, LuAnn (Art Wilkinson) Imdieke of St. Paul, Leona Ulrich of Perham, LaVonne (Rich) Gallus of St. Cloud, Lyle (Jackie) Imdieke of Northfield, Lynette (Fred) Imdieke-Struzyk of South Haven, Laura (Mark Glatzel) Imdieke of St. Cloud, Lisa (Mike) Arend of Andover, Lloyd (Shelly) Imdieke of St. Cloud, and Lila Smith of New Hope; 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and brother, Elmer Schleppenbach of Albany.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Imdieke; her parents; sons, Lawrence “Larry” Imdieke, Jr., Lynn Imdieke, and Louis Imdieke; brothers, Norbert, Sylvester, and Albert Schleppenbach; and sisters, Florence Dirkes, and Agnes Wehseler.
