Lucas Scott Thang was born September 2, 1980 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Jeff and Jean (Beste) Thang. He was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. Whether casting a line on a quiet lake at sunrise, competing in fishing tournaments, cheering on his favorite NHL teams, or sharing stories and laughter, he embraced every day with passion and gratitude. Fishing wasn't just a hobby-it was his peace, his escape, and a way he connected with those he loved most.

Above all, he treasured time with his daughter, who was the center of his world and his greatest pride. Their bond was unbreakable, filled with love, laughter, and memories that will be carried forward forever. He also had a special place in his heart for his loyal dog, Jake, whose companionship brought him comfort and joy through every season of life. He was a beloved brother and a loyal friend; someone others could always count on. He shared a deep love for his nephews, taking pride in teaching them how to fish and passing down not only skills, but patience, laughter, and a love for the outdoors they will carry with them always.

An avid outdoorsman, he looked forward each year to turkey hunting and cherished the trips to South Dakota with his dad-traditions that created lasting memories rooted in family, laughter, and the beauty of the outdoors.

Though cancer may have taken him too soon, it never defined him. He will be remembered for his resilience, his love for his family, and the way he lived life fully and authentically. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on in all who knew him.

Survivors include his daughter, Lexi (Noah) Fletcher of Sauk Centre; parents, Jeff (G.G.)
