Keith H. Pryor, age 70 of Sauk Centre and formerly of Scandia died peacefully November 11, 2019 at his home with his wife and daughter at his side.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Mike Carlson officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. in the sanctuary at First Lutheran Church.
Keith Henry Prior, the oldest son of Ronald Henry and Joan (Wearn) Prior was born September 27, 1949 in Headley Hampshire, England. He attended school in England and graduated from Secondary School in 1965. He then studied at Canarvan University in Wales earning his degree in English History. Keith was a Bobbie in Wales when he went to school and taught school in Australia in the Outback for two years. In 1974, he came to America to teach but worked in the auto industry repairing and then selling cars at Superior Ford in the Twin Cities. He was General Manager in trucks at Stillwater Ford and later worked at Barnett Chrysler.
On May 22, 1981, Keith was united in marriage to Vonda Lee Anderson Martin Pryor.
In 1989, he left the auto industry and started Scandia Cabinets and did custom woodworking for 22 years in the Forest Lake, Minnesota area. In 2011, Keith and Vonda moved to Sauk Centre to be close to Vonda’s parents and to retire; however, he re-opened Scandia Cabinets as a hobby and built cabinets, repaired antiques and was able to completely build the new bar at The Next Door Bar in Sauk Centre.
Keith had a passion for British cars, classic car fixing and restoring. He owned an MGBGT and MG Midget and became involved with Long Prairie Country Cruisers Car Club and served as vice president for 2 years, a member of Minnesota MG Group for 20 years, member of North American MGB Register for 15 years. He also enjoyed gardening, repairing antiques, traveling in their RV throughout the United States; learning all about WWII British history and hunting and fishing in his younger years.
Being with family – especially spending time with his grandchildren was always enjoyed. He and Vonda enjoyed hosting Family Reunions at their home in Forest Lake and continued to participate in reunions while living in Sauk Centre.
Keith will be missed by his wife, Vonda Pryor of Sauk Centre; daughter, Nicole Pryor of Sauk Centre; step-children, Tiffany Martin Fostano and her husband, Ken of Union Town, PA and David Martin and his wife, Chrissy of Rogers; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Alec, John, Tom, Scot, Tian, Eugene and Cora; two step-grandchildren, Brandon and Summer; one step-great grandson, Mateo; siblings, Patricia Lobb, Sandie Haley, Rosie Burrows, Tina Oakley, Marian Frankland, Gary Prior, David Prior, and Kevin Prior, all of England; sister-in-law, Cheryl White of Elk River; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald in 1989 and Joan in 2012; mother and father-in-law, June and Gene Anderson who both died in 2014; and a brother-in-law, Noel White in 2008.
