Katie Llewellyn

Katie Danielle Llewellyn, age 38 of Melrose, Minnesota, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 in Melrose.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 19th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Melrose with Pastor David Mommens officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at St Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Katie Danielle (Farris) Llewellyn was born October 8, 1985 in Columbus, Ohio to Kent Rather and Elizabeth Farris. She married her high school sweetheart in 2004 and started her family by giving birth to her first child in 2005 and her following children in 2006 and 2007. On June 7, 2014 she remarried to William Llewellyn at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Melrose.

Katie enjoyed being a mother. From a young age, it was clear that being a mother was what she wanted most in life. As a child, she was gifted a Cabbage Patch doll who she named Victoria Rose. She stated that was her favorite name and the name she would give her first daughter. She committed to that and named her first daughter Victoria Rose Olson. She was a good friend to many and would be recognized by them for her overall sunny disposition and bubbly personality. The people she cared about were the most important thing in the world to her. She will be remembered fondly, forgotten by no one, and loved and missed by all.

Katie is survived by her husband, William Lewellyn of Sauk Centre; daughters, Victoria, Alexis, and Gladys Olson of Melrose; mother, Elizabeth Farris of Melrose; brothers and sister, Christopher Farris of Westerville, Ohio, Kent Farris of Fargo, North Dakota, and Sarah Farris of St Joseph; nieces and nephew, Amber and Michael Farris of Westerville, Ohio and Chloe and Laila Farris of St Joseph, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kent Rather; and her grandparents, Michael and Lois Farris.
