Julie Jensen

Julie Ann (Jasken) Jensen, age 54, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 comfortably at home surrounded by her husband and her family after a two-year fight against breast cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 27 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Jeremy Theis officiating and Rev. Andrew Dudzinski concelebrating.  Interment will be at St. Alexius Cemetery in West Union.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rosary prayed at 10:30 a.m.

Julie was born in Wadena, Minnesota on October 30, 1969. She was raised by her parents Harold and Mary Lou Jasken predominantly on White Earth Lake on the White Earth lndian Reservation. Julie was the baby of the family and enjoyed life with her siblings, Jane (Mark Whalen), Chris (Del Jasken), and Ron (Gail Jasken).

Julie graduated from Waubun High School in Waubun, Minnesota in 1988. She settled on pursuing a career in cosmetology and attended the St. Cloud Beauty College in St. Cloud, Minnesota. On August 6, 1990 Julie became a mother for the first time, giving birth to her oldest son, Michael. God's timing was such that Julie decided to selflessly give Michael a life that she was not able to provide him at the time and chose the new family that would adopt and raise Michael.

Julie met her husband of 32 years, Eric Jensen, in St. Cloud on October 13, 1990, up until death, they were together ever since. Julie and Eric were married at Sacred Heart parish in Baudette, Minnesota on May 25, 1991. Julie and Eric would go on to have nine children together over the next 21years. Their children are Andrew (32), Maria (29) (Connor Nilson), Joseph (26), Magdalen (24), Marta (22), Katerina (20), James (17), Jack (15), and Anika (12).

Julie left work four months after Andrew was born so she could be home with her son and never looked back. She was an amazing homemaker and wife for Eric and all of the children for all the days of her life. She chose to raise all of her children almost single handedly and on a single income while Eric worked, trading the riches of the world for the riches of her children. Following Eric's career path, Julie moved from St. Cloud to Warroad, East Grand Forks, Sauk Rapids, Duelm, and finally to Upsala, Minnesota where she lived for 2O years up until her death.

Julie is preceded in death by their daughter, Veronica (via miscarriage), Julie's brother, Michael, and her father, Harold Jasken as well as her grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her husband Eric, all 10 of her children, and six grandchildren, Arlus and Jameson Jensen (Andrew), Chloe and Elliott Olson (Michael), Sven Nilson (Maria), and “Charles" (Katerina). She is also survived by her mother, Mary Lou Jasken, her sister, Jane Whalen, and her brothers, Ron and Chris Jasken.

Julie loved her husband Eric to no end.....and loved her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and her Catholic faith unceasingly.
