Joyce Marie Anderson was born May 22, 1958 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Glen and Elsie (Eschenbacher) Anderson. She grew up in Upsala and later moved to Melrose. Growing up, she spent her summers at Little Birch Lake and helping out at her parents’ store. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1976. She later met the love of her life, Jerry, and they were married in September of 1979 in Grey Eagle, Minnesota. They enjoyed snowmobiling, poker runs, water sports, and fishing. She was blessed with her first son, Kris. They spent summers at the lake, swimming, water skiing, and fishing. She was then blessed with her second son, Justin. She soon after discovered her passion for teaching as a paraprofessional at Sauk Centre Schools. Because of her dedication to her students, she received two Educational Support Staff Awards in 2016 and 2019. She retired after 31 years at Sauk Centre Schools. She loved to bake and cook and even became the “bar lady” for the football team.
Joyce then welcomed two wonderful daughters-in-law to her life. Three beautiful grandchildren followed and she made such wonderful memories with them, sharing her love of the lake and being outdoors with the whole family. She enjoyed planting her flower garden every spring and enjoyed watching the many many birds in the backyard. She also enjoyed crocheting, painting on canvas, fishing, swimming, and having fun with her grandchildren.
After she retired, she spent time painting, visiting her sister and son in the southern regions of the United States, and spending time with family. To know Joyce was to know she loved her family, spending time outdoors and by the water, and supporting so many students in their learning.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Sabrowsky of Sauk Centre; sons, Kristopher (Sarah) Sabrowsky of Sauk Centre and Justin (Ally) Sabrowsky of Robbinsville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, and Jacob Sabrowsky; and sister, JoAnn (Bob) Wilson of Woodstock, Georgia.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Glen (Shirley) Anderson.
