Jeffrey "Jeff" Tschida

Jeffrey J. “Jeff” Tschida, age 69 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 5 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Kevin Soenneker officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Ward Springs.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Jeffrey John Tschida was born May 6, 1956 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Herman and Florence (Heinen) Tschida. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1974. He was united in marriage to Susan McDonald on July 23, 1977 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Ward Springs, Minnesota. Jeff worked as a supervisor for Scott Manufacturing until his retirement in 2019. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Jeff enjoyed playing in softball leagues, shooting darts, playing cards, bean bags, and riding motorcycle, trike, and snowmobiles. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, and driving family around the lake on the pontoon. Jeff was an avid reader and loved watching Minnesota sports, especially when it came to watching the Vikings and the Twins. In retirement, he enjoyed going on casino bus tours with his wife.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Susan Tschida; children, Joe (Stacy) Tschida, Kenny Tschida, Linda Tschida, and Kimberly Tschida (L.T. Thompson); mother, Florence Tschida; eight grandchildren, Katlynn, Elexa, Brandon, Zach, Derrick, Gabby, Courtney, and Brooke; great-granddaughter, Elena; brothers and sisters, Eugene Tschida, Shirley Stoermann, Wayne (JoAnn) Tschida, Kevin (Sue) Tschida, Dwight (Nancy) Tschida, Mark (Connie) Tschida, and Janell Tschida; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Herman Tschida; mother-in-law, MaryAnn McDonald; and brothers-in-law, Roy Stoermann and Tim McDonald.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
