James "Jim" Wiener

James N. “Jim” Wiener, age 76 of Sauk Centre, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at the Lynx National Golf Course in Sauk Centre with military honors at 2 p.m. by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

James Norbert Wiener was born November 10, 1945 in Melrose, Minnesota to Frank and Rose (Haskamp) Wiener.  He was united in marriage to Kathleen Youngs on April 12, 1969 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jim worked in purchasing at Western Electric, a telephone manufacturing company, for over 30 years. After retirement, Jim drove vehicles for John Wiese Ford and also worked at the Lynx National Golf Course in Sauk Centre. Jim enjoyed golfing, fishing, and going to the casino with his friends.

Survivors include his brother, Paul (Fran) Wiener of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Alverna (Kenny) Mayer of Sauk Centre; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Wiener on June 25, 1999; parents; brothers and sisters, Tony Wiener, Jack Wiener, Herb Wiener, Rosie Kortan, Irene Gritzmacher, Alphonse Wiener, Reuben Wiener, and Teresa Froseth.
