Irene B. Lahr, 83, of Grey Eagle, died at her home Friday April 25, 2003.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Father Arlie Sowada will officiate. A private family burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service, Saturday at the church in Grey Eagle.

Irene Lahr was born November 5, 1919 in Melrose, Minnesota to Joseph and Catherine (Vornbrock) Ritter. She married Alphonse P. Lahr on June 26, 1940 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. They farmed in Grey Eagle Township, Todd County until moving to Grey Eagle in 1951.Irene was a homemaker. She also worked at Ryan's Grocery and Stearns Mfg. in Grey Eagle. Irene loved to sew and spent many hours at her sewing machine. She was a devoted member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's Society. She maintained the church linens for 45 years.

Irene is survived by her children, Janice Fischer and husband, Andrew of Osakis, Darlene Stuckel and husband, John of Grey Eagle, Roger Lahr and fianc+e, Carol Kutter of Sartell, Mary Hoffman and husband, Don of Grey Eagle, Margaret Riley and husband, Carl of Cottonwood, AZ, and Kathryn Mohawk and husband, Mark of Forest Lake; sister, Ernestine Zenzen of Belgrade; brother, Clarence Ritter and wife, Rita of Melrose; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alphonse; and brothers, Roman, Gilbert, Alquin, and Albert Ritter.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Bonnie Walters, Brian Loxtercamp, Michael Stuckel, Christopher Stuckel, Daniel Lahr, Shana Lahr, Sara Riley, and Alixandra Mohawk.Cross bearer will be Alixandra Mohawk. Scripture bearer will be Sara Riley. Candlebearer will be Kristina Stuckel. Rose bearers will be Kara Stuckel and Brianne Stuckel.Honorary pallbearers will be Marge Hinman, Carrie Ahrens, Lourdine Berscheit, LaVonne Bitz, Bonnie Steinhauser and Erna Radtke.
