Irene Jones

Irene C. Jones, age 92 of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the church in Sauk Centre from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Irene Jones was born on September 30, 1910 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Edward and Margaret (Hanauer) Liebel. On May 23, 1935 she was united in marriage to Henry P. Jones. She was a life long resident of Sauk Centre, where, as a loving wife and mother, she raised her family. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Jones of Sauk Centre; eight children, Henry D. (Ernestine) Jones of East Bethel, David (Susan) Jones of Coon Rapids, Jeannine (Duane) Halvorson of Hugo, George Jones of Eden Prairie, Walter Jones of Fridley, Kathleen (Eugene) Abraham of Villard, Elouise Jones of Minneapolis and Clifford (Vicki) Jones of Savage; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jeanette Jones; one grandson; sisters, Loretta Burdick, Erma Nierman and Helen Putnam; brother, Albert Liebel.

Serving as casket bearers will be Larry, Dennis, Erik and William Jones, Trevor Halvorson and Max Maltese. Cross bearer will be Joe Maltese.
