Herbert Bastin

Herbert S. "Herb" Bastin, age 69 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 18 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Private inurnment will be in Clear Lake Cemetery in Clear Lake, Minnesota.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Herb Bastin was born December 31, 1941 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Herbert and Evenlyn (Brockway) Bastin. For the past 19 years he had been a resident at Koelln Homes in Sauk Centre.

Survivors include a sister, JoAnne (Jack) Spurgeon of Kent, Wash.; cousins, Mike (Sandy) Brockway of Burtrum, Cathi Brockway of St. Joseph, and Stephen (Kathy) Brockway of Carson City, Nev.; uncle, Jerry Brockway of Little Falls; caregiver, Lou Kozak of St. Cloud; caregivers and fellow residents of Koelln Home in Sauk Centre.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and guardian, Frank Kozak.
