Elaine Klug

Elaine M. Klug, age 84 of Albany, Minnesota passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albany with Pastor Anthony Christopher officiating. Entombment will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery in Albany.

Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church in Albany.

Elaine Marie Grabmeier was born November 18, 1941 in Farming Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Edward and Frances (Hokanson) Grabmeier. She graduated from Albany High School. On July 9, 1960, she was united in marriage to Delmar Klug at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Albany. The couple farmed for many years and while farming, Elaine worked at various businesses. Elaine worked at The Star Post Newspaper (aka Albany Enterprise), Albany High School office, and at the Albany Medical Center in addition to being the office manager at St. Cloud Central MN Surgeons.

Elaine enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, quilting, sewing many of her children’s clothes, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors.

Elaine was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church and presently at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She also was very active in the women’s group at church.

Survivors include her husband, Delmar Klug of Albany; children, Jan (Eric) Carlson of St. Cloud, Mary (Rick) Merdan of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Steve Klug (Kari Rettig) of Abany, and Dennis (Tonya) Klug of Maple Lake; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sister, Rudy Grabmeier, Irene Holly, and Richard Grabmeier.
