Duane Arthur Reznechek was born February 22, 1948 in Melrose, Minnesota to Wilfrid and Elizabeth (Bieringer) Reznechek. He was raised on the family farm, which inspired his love of nature and the outdoors. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School and volunteered for the Air Force, serving from 1966 to 1971. He was stationed in Southeast Asia and Europe during the Vietnam Conflict where he achieved a rank as Staff Sergeant. His area of expertise in the military was electrical power production. After his honorable discharge, he attended Wadena Technical Institute and the Minnesota School of Business. He married Janet Holman on July 26, 1975 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Dewey worked for Stromberg Carlson, Lakedale Telephone Company, Northland Communications, and Nortel (Northern Telecommunications).

Dewey was well known for his mechanical aptitude and his desire to help others first, which was very rewarding for him. Dewey leaves a legacy as a creative and passionate problem solver with a strong sense of humor. He had a gift of building a meaningful rapport with others in a short period of time that left a positive withstanding impact. The most important relationships to Dewey were his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known as the best "papa" in the world who always wanted to spend time with his grandchildren. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Dewey was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a proud veteran and loved his fellow service members.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Reznechek of Annandale; sons, Aaron Reznechek of Sartell and Nate (Sarah) Reznechek of Spicer; and four grandchildren, Brody and Devynn Reznechek and Blake and Cason Reznechek.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
