Dorothy M. Tomsche, age 86 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Fairway Pines in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 5 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Kevin Soenneker officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, December 5 at the church.
Dorothy Marie Sadlowsky was born March 6, 1939 in Albany, Minnesota to Leonard and Hildegard (Schulte) Sadlowsky. She attended Avon Public School and graduated from Tech High School in St. Cloud. She worked at Fandel’s Department Store in St. Cloud for many years. In May of 1960, she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Tomsche. On June 22, 1963 they were united in marriage at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon. They lived in Albany and then St. Cloud while Bob finished school at St. Cloud State. Bob and Dorothy moved to Sauk Centre in July of 1965 and purchased the Sauk Centre Fleet Supply on south Main Street. A new building was built in 1969 at the present location. Dorothy retired from the store.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Mrs. Jaycees, and Birthday Clubs. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, reading, setting puzzles, and doing word finds. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, going on cruises, and spending time at their home in Florida.
Survivors include her children, Kim Tomsche of Mankato, Todd (Teressa) Tomsche of Shevlin, Kelly (Mark) Winter of St. Joseph, Mark (Belinda) Tomsche of Sauk Centre, and Mike (Susan) Tomsche of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Matt (Ashley) and Sarah, Ashley (Josh), Amanda, Marcus (Amanda), Jacob, and Allison, Michael and Chloe, and Kevin, Alexis, Chloe, George, and Harris; great-grandchildren, Mason, Kylie, and Leo, Hayleigh, Brooklynn, Lilah, Robert and Wes, and Fernlyn and Unique; sisters, Viola (Ed) Defourneaux of Charlotte, South Carolina, and Agnes Thyen of Hastings.
Dorothy was preceded in death her husband, Robert “Bob” Tomsche on April 10, 2020; parents, Leonard and Hildegard Sadlowsky; sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Ben) Lass; brother-in-law, Roger Thyen; and father and mother-in-law, Emil and Christine Tomsche.
Serving as casket bearers will be, Ashley Finken, Amanda Tomsche, Marcus Tomsche, Jacob Tomsche, Allison Tomsche, Matt Winter, Michael Tomsche, and Chloe Tomsche. Cross bearer will be Mason Winter and scripture bearer will be Kylie Winter. Gift bearers will be Marcus and Amanda, Lilah, Robert, and Wes Tomsche. Readers will be Mike and Michael Tomsche and the eulogy will be by Kim Tomsche.
Memorials are preferred to Fairway Pines, 606 Main Street N., Sauk Centre, MN 56378.
