Diane M. Scherer, age 66 of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Serenity Village Assisted Living in Avon, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport with Rev. Derek Wiechmann officiating and Rev. Daniel Walz concelebrating. Entombment will be held in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Freeport. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
