Delores Orth

Delores E. Orth, age 93 of Sauk Centre, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Fairway Pines Senior Living in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church. There will be a rosary at 6 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Delores Elizabeth Weber was born on June 15, 1933, in Elrosa, Minnesota, to Frank and Frances (Meyer) Weber. She married Elmer Orth on August 23, 1955, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Prior to the birth of her first child, Delores worked at St. Michael’s Hospital. She later served as a fraternal secretary for Catholic United Financial for 25 years and was a bookkeeper for Orth’s Quality Dairy for more than 30 years.

Delores was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, Christian Mothers, St. Margaret’s Mission, Senior Citizens, Homemakers, Catholic United Financial, the Nine Patch Quilting Group, and the Birthday Club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, and especially playing cards and games with family and friends. Delores had a competitive spirit and loved nothing more than a good game—and she wasn’t above teasing those who lost!

Delores was a woman of deep and steadfast faith, which brought her strength and comfort through life’s most difficult moments. She leaned especially on her faith following the loss of her best friend, Jane L. Meyer, on January 5, 2022, her husband, Elmer, just two days later on January 7, 2022, and her daughter, Karen, on September 25, 2024. Knowing that each had endured much suffering, Delores found comfort and peace in her belief that their suffering had ended and that they had been welcomed into their eternal home in heaven.

Survivors include her four children, Carol (Sid) Bjelland of Bemidji, Mark of Mounds View, and Lori Orth of Sauk Centre; son-in-law, Gayle O'Leary of West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Brian, Brandon (Jess), Shannon, Megan, Nicole (Josh), and Heather (Zeb); great grandchildren, Brynn, Beckett, and Teagan; brothers and sisters, John (Rosemary) Weber, Marie Stang, and Eugene (Addie) Weber; and sister-in-law, Sharon Weber.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Orth; daughter, Karen O’Leary; parents; sister, Valeria Peters; brother, Art Weber; and brothers-in-law, Robert Peters and Harold Stang.

The Delores Orth family wants to extend a special "Thank you" to the staff at Fairway Pines that attended to her needs over the years. We are grateful for the loving care she received.
