Daniel Raymond Imdieke was born March 16, 1947, in Melrose, Minnesota, the son of Vincent and Hilda (Herkenhoff) Imdieke. On November 7, 1970, Dan married Kathy Borgerding, and together they shared 55 years of love, devotion, and partnership. He was a proud father to three sons: Scott, Aaron, and Kurt Imdieke. Dan was known for his good nature, friendly spirit, and generous heart. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued, and he lived his life with steady kindness, sincerity, and a gentle sense of humor.
Dan believed deeply in serving his community and his country. He proudly served in the Army National Guard and was an active member of the Jaycees and a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, where he enjoyed fellowship, service, and singing in the Knights of Columbus Choir. He was a member of the American Legion Post 67 and active at the Sauk Centre Senior Center. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church where he shared his faith through music as a member of the church choir, something he truly loved. Dan had been employed by Dan Welle Southtown.
He enjoyed cheering on all Minnesota sports teams, following them through every season. Dan found joy in the outdoors—especially hunting, fishing, and camping—where he loved spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed playing cards filling many evenings of laughter, stories, and friendly competition. Dan will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
