Carole C. Scott, age 92 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 6th, 2024 at Cura /Centra Care Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A memorial service for Carole and her beloved husband of 72 years Donald Sr. who also passed away on August 21, 2024 will be held on Monday, October 28 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Rev. Steve Hilde, former pastor of the Long Bridge Church in Little Sauk will be officiating the service. Military honors for Don will be held by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard at the funeral home following the service.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday October 28th with memorial service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Carole Crystal Hansmann was born January 22, 1932 in Round Prairie Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Ervin and Esther (Warner) Hansmann. Carole attended School District 10 near Round Prairie, through the 6th grade. She then moved with her family to the “Hansmann Farm Homestead,” Sauk Centre which was established by her great grandparents. She continued school in Sauk Centre and graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1950. After graduation in the Spring of 1950 Carole and her girlfriend Betty ventured off to the cities to find work. On September 12th, 1951, she married Donald Scott. Shortly after the wedding they moved to Oceanside, California, where Donald was stationed and soon was deployed to Korea. Don & Carole made their homes in Chanhassen, Norwood-Young America, and retired to Little Sauk Lake fulltime in 2000. Don & Carole loved to travel!! They spent many winters in their RV traveling all over the United States. Carole enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and baking. Also, taking an occasional trip to the casino. And enjoying a little bingo on Sunday afternoon.
Survivors include children, Brenda Scott, Cindi (Jerry/Bob) Hefferan, Don (Sarah)Scott, Jr., and David (Julie) Scott; grandchildren, Blaise, Anna, Kayla, Cole, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Blaison, Barrett. Charlie, and Arlo; and brother, Wayne (Donna) Hansmann; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents; and brother, Laurel Hansmann.
In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in Carole and Don’s memory.
