Andrew "Andy" Olmscheid

Andrew J. “Andy” Olmscheid, age 70 of Elrosa, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at his home in Elrosa, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 26 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Rick Aubol officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Andrew John Olmscheid was born August 7, 1951 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Leander and Marie (Spanier) Olmscheid. On November 7, 1981 he married Lavina Brendle and they later divorced. Andy worked most of his life doing freelance work for local companies and farmers including, Hanson Silo Company, Depot Feeds, Dale Melin Feeder Pigs, Ron’s Pumping, and Gary Felling Farming. Andy enjoyed playing softball, helping on farms, and listening to Classic Country Music.

Andy was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa and Catholic United Financial.

Survivors include his son, Andrew “AJ” Olmscheid of Sauk Centre; daughter, Jennifer Olmscheid of Burbank, California; brothers, John (Mary) Olmscheid of Elrosa, Peter (Julie) Olmscheid of Alexandria, Paul (Beverly) Olmscheid of Richmond, and Bill Olmscheid of Waite Park; sisters, Mary Olmscheid of Paynesville, Clara (Dave) Rooney of Padua, and Margie (Jerry) Huerkamp of Glenwood; sister-in-law, Linda Olmscheid of California; and nieces and nephews.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and Mike Olmscheid; brother-in-law, Paul Wurtzberger; and nephew, David Huerkamp.

Serving as casket bearers will be his siblings, John, Mary, Peter, Clara, Paul, Margie, and Bill. Cross bearer will be his son, AJ Olmscheid.
