Agnes Job

Agnes G. Job, age 83 of Freeport, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, December 3, 2017 surrounded by her family at her home in Freeport, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport with Rev. Dan Walz officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church in Freeport. Goldenaires Senior Citizens, Christian Women, and Catholic United Financial will pray at 4 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 5 p.m. Thursday evening at the church.

Agnes Gertrude Fleischhacker was born October 7, 1934 in St. Martin Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Frederick and Appolonia (Wolbeck) Fleischhacker. She married Edward Job on June 6, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Agnes was a homemaker; raising their nine children. Agnes and Ed farmed south of Freeport, and in 1999 they moved to town. Agnes worked for the Foster Grandparent Program for 20 years and was known to many as "Grandma Agnes."

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Christian Women, and Catholic United Financial #101. Agnes enjoyed playing cards, bowling, quilting, crocheting, gardening, and square dancing. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her sense of humor and smile will be missed by all.

Survivors include her husband, Edward "Ed" Job of Freeport; children, Elmer (Kristal) Job of Freeport, Roger (Carol) Job of Freeport, Leroy Job of Clear Lake, Bertha (Don) Hartung of Melrose, Linus (Tracy) Job of Altoona, WI, Kevin (Marianne O'Malley) Job of Hugo, Donald Job of Freeport, and Nancy (Bob) Middendorf of Sauk Centre; 29 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Christine (Leander) Kalthoff of Roscoe; brothers, Lawrence Fleischhacker of Paynesville, and Benedict (Ione) Fleischhacker of Freeport; and sister-in-law, Anna May Fleischhacker of Albany.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; son, Harold Job; grandsons, Bradley Middendorf and Eric Job; sister and brother, Marie Massmann and Herman Fleischhacker; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Fleischhacker.
